Welcome, dear friends, as we gather together for another study of God’s Word. May the Holy Spirit guide our hearts and minds as we open the Book of Exodus and seek wisdom for our journey today. Let us approach this study with open hearts, ready to receive understanding, encouragement, and the blessings the Lord has for us.
As we turn to the central theme for today, consider the generation of the fig tree. In biblical terms, the ‘generation of the fig tree’ refers to a period marked by prophetic events, drawing on Jesus’ teaching in the Gospels where He uses the fig tree as a symbol warning His followers to observe the signs of the times. The fig tree often represents Israel, and its blossoming is seen as signifying the re-establishment of Israel as a nation and the beginning of end-time events. Understanding this helps us see the relevance of our study today, as it reminds us to stay attentive to God’s plan unfolding in our lives.
Now, moving to God’s covenant, God revealed in Genesis 15:13 that this would be the generation to remain in captivity for 400 years. Then, they would be led forward into the Promised Land, bringing them out with much prosperity. However, God would judge the Egyptians for their roles in inhuman cruelty, leading out his followers… richer and better than ever.
That’s how God operates. Rewarding us for our faith and trust in him. Never ever lose your hope in your father; you won’t survive. As true to that. It doesn’t matter what you’re going through … Always know, he’s working it out for your good. Amen.
Okay … Let’s have a word of wisdom in Jesus precious name …As we study the Book of Exodus.
Chapters 1-10
1 Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob.
1a Meaning these are the Hebrew tribes … Yet, they traveled with Jacob, their earthly father.
2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,
3 Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,
4 Dan, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
5 And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already.
2-5a. There are eleven brothers who traveled with Jacob. However, Joseph, who had been blessed by God, was put in a position as God’s plan was shaping. His brothers had sold him into slavery, for their jealousy was vital towards Joseph. Yet, led by God, he saved Egypt and his own people by building many storehouses for grain.
6 And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.
6a After Joseph and all his brothers passed away. Remember, time doesn’t wait for anybody. Everyone will have an expiration date.
7 And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.
7a The descendants of the brothers were driven, and they worked hard. They grew in number as they spread throughout the land.
8 Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.
8a Now, some scholars feel that this new king was Ramesses or the 2nd, which didn’t really matter. He didn’t know anything about Joseph. As God’s word says … when you depart this flesh body … you’re soon forgotten.
9 And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:
9a This king gathered his leaders together and explained his uneasiness because the Hebrews were healthy, strong, and growing. And he was afraid they could turn against the Egyptians and overpower them.
10 Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.
10a. This king was looking for ways to stop the growth. He explained. There are many of them. They could join our rivals, and we could lose the best workers and land we’ve ever had. We need to keep them near.
11 Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.
11a They followed orders well and put brutal supervision over the Hebrews and Shepherds. Forcing them to learn construction. They built beautiful cities for the Pharaoh, increasing his wealth. They were a blessing to the kings of Egypt.
12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.
12a And God was with them, and they grew over Egypt. No matter how hard they tried to break them down. They grew.
13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:
13a Management used Rigour, meaning crushing & coming down ruthlessly on them. However, God made them to become bigger and stronger
14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.
14a They made them work hard, and they were cruel. Father God was not pleased with the rough labor bestowed on the Hebrews. Yet, he promised Egypt in its earlier kings that it would always be a base nation. For the kindness that was shown to Joseph and his family.
15 And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:
15a Now, midwife, Shiphrah, which means brightness, and Puah, which means splendid, were Egyptians handmaids who delivered babies.
16 And he said, when ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.
16a The Hebrew men multiplied and were strong, and the king wanted to stop this explosion. Only 70 souls traveled into Egypt. Yet thousands had evolved. This made the king nervous. And he wanted to do away with the multiplying … By killing the sperm donors.
17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.
17a The midwives were led by the spirit of God and did not kill the boy children.
18 And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?
18a The king became angry and summoned the midwives … Asking! Why didn’t you obey my orders?
19 And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.
19a The women answered. Hebrew mothers aren’t like Egyptian mothers. They don’t always call us for help. They take care of their own and deliver themselves. We went there, but we were not needed. Although this was Father God taking care of his own.
20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.
20a Because the midwives did not take any of the male children’s lives. God caused them to grow and prosper as well.
21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.
21a And it came to pass because the midwives loved God, that he caused their houses to grow in numbers.
22 And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.
22a Pharaoh ordered all the slaves to place any newborn boy children into the river. Yet, allow the girls to live. Nevertheless, one special male child who would be cast into the river … will end all this suffering by leading Israel out of this 400-year captivity.

Chapter 2
1 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.
1a Two Levi’s of the same blood married. Meaning no mixed tribes.
2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.
2a She birthed a large, adorable baby boy. And avoided sending him down the river for three months. This son would be Moses. Let’s look at the history. Now, Moses is the seventh from Abraham’s generation. Abraham is the seventh from Enoch’s. Enoch is the seventh from Adam. 777… Father God’s day of return.
3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.
3a After he started growing & questioned whether he was a boy or a girl … she had to place him in the river. Keep in mind, Moses, which means in the Hebrew tongue (drawn from the water). Also, her creating him a boat made from bulrushes, which were the first materials used as pages for the Bible … Father God was sending us signs.
4 And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.
4a This was Mariam. Can you imagine how she felt? Being around her baby brother for three months and now having to watch him flow down a river? She was planning on protecting that basket as long as she could.
5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.
5a Why do you think she sent her maids to get that basket? Because her footsteps were being led by God.
6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.
6a When she looked at him, he was just a bundle of joy lying there crying for his mother. Her heart went out to him.
7 Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?
7a Look how smart his big sister was. She knew … her brother was hungry. Imagine how her mother felt when she gave her the news. Our God is so wonderful to us. Please. Don’t miss his message here. Moses mother was very heartbroken at this time. This was the death of her child. At this point, she was praying … for the Lord’s strength. He had just answered her prayers. In the same way, he answers our prayers today.
8 And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.
8a Pharaoh’s daughter was not in control … This was Father God. And his blessings were just beginning. Always know … God hears our prayers. And please remember … he will use anyone or anything to fulfill them.
9 And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.
9a Moses mother not only got her son back to nurse and take care of him. On top of all that, Father God gave her money to support the family. He is such an awesome God.
10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.
10a Look at that. Pharaoh ordered the Hebrew boys to be placed in the water. Yet, Moses’ name in the Egyptian tongue means, to be (Saved) from the water. Remember, in the Hebrew tongue it means … to be (Drawn) from the water. God is so clever.
11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.
11a Moses was blessed to grow up with his Hebrew family, as well as his Royal family. He did not like the difference in their treatment.
12 And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.
12a Don’t forget, the Egyptian’s were taught to intimidate the Hebrews. When Moses saw this, it made him angry. When he thought no one was looking, he killed him. For some reason, he wanted to stop this man forever.
13 And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?
13a You have to remember also. The Hebrews were raised not to fight back against the Egyptians. Still, many today look for anything to bring you down when they feel you are special. Was Moses living in a castle? Don’t forget jealousy is as cruel as the grave. I’m sure Mariam and Arron, his siblings, felt a bit special. Think about it. Your brother is adopted by the king’s daughter. That is nothing but bragging rights.
14 And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.
14a When Moses saw their attitudes, he knew this would not end well. He realized everyone knew he did it. This was against the law. Yet, he was trying to help his own people. We will do the same thing today. Fight each other and let the enemy go.
15 Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.
15a Moses had to leave. Pharaoh’s Law was to kill him because he had killed an Egyptian. That land he settled in, which was Midian … means strife.
16 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.
16a Moses married one of these daughters. They were Midianites, descendants of Keturah, Abraham’s second wife.
17 And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.
17a The shepherds were the Kenites, sons of Cain, who are the sons of Satan. These Midianites were living among many Kenites. Moses assisted them.
18 And when they came to Reuel (Jethro) their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day?
18a Now Reuel means friend of Ya or God. They were back extremely early. They were girls.
19 And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.
19a Why did they think Moses was an Egyptian? Think … because of the way he was dressed. However, what is Moses? He’s not an Egyptian or a Hebrew. Remember… Father God told you in verse 1 of this same chapter. Two Levis got together and created Moses. This makes him from the prince and king tribe. A Levi.
20 And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.
20a Reuel (Jethro) wanted to know why his daughters didn’t invite Moses to dinner. After he was so polite? He then had them find him and offer him food & shelter.
21 And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.
21a Moses was happy to find food and shelter with them. Their father allowed Moses to marry his daughter Zipporah, which means … little bird of Jahaveh. Think about it … Seven girls? This daddy was regulating things by allowing Moses, one of his daughters, to love on.
22 And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.
22a Now Gershom means … I’m a stranger here.
23 And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.
23a The king who could have taken Moses’ life died. Yet, the pain and torture by the Egyptian’s had God’s children crying out to him for help. Like we’re doing here today, during this COVID-19 saga.
24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
24a Father God always keeps his word. He will never let you down. When his stamp of approval is on it. You can bet it’s coming to pass. Oh, how I love my father.
25 And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.
25a They were dealing. Just like we are today. Like it’s proven. The way it was in the beginning will be that way in the end.

Chapter 3
1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
1a Jethro, meaning his Excellency, which is the title for Reuel … Who is the father of Moses’ wife Zipporah. Horeb means the desert or Sinai.
2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
2a The angel of God’s spirit is reflecting from a bush. It would have been impossible for Moses to with-stand father Gods glory in person. Yet, we must remember … God is a consuming fire.
3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
3a This amazed Moses to see that hot fire was not burning up this bush.
4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
4a Moses could hear the voice of God shouting his name. Can you imagine?
5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
5a Why was this Holy ground? Because the angel of the Lord was there. Wherever Father God is … That’s where Heaven is.
6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
6a Moses hid his face from God because it was said … to look upon the face of God, you would die. Nothing changes. That’s still being said today.
7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
7a Father God saw and heard how his children were being treated. Like he sees today and hears. That’s one reason he uses COGs ( children of God) … to encourage the lost to come back.
8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
8a I want them led out of Egypt to foreign lands. Jebusites (One of the cousins of the ites), which later became Jerusalem. There, my children won’t have to work so hard. Plus. It’s already fully developed.
9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.
9a They’re praying for me to stop the Egyptians. I myself have been observing.
10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.
10a Now you know Moses’ heart is racing… He’s been hiding from Pharaoh for years. Pharaoh wants to kill him. Man … Father God always checks his children’s faith. Especially those COGs he gives special assignments to.
11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?
11a He did not want that job. He had witnessed some of Pharaoh’s handiwork. That’s where he learned … Kill to resolve matters.
12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.
12a God assured Moses that he would not leave or forsake him. Expressing that he would be with him through this task. After which, you shall bring them back to this same spot. Then we will rejoice and worship together.
13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
13a Moses wanted to know what to say. You have to remember, they didn’t have the Bible to catch up like we do today. He didn’t know his name.
14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
14a Father God is I AM … I am the vine, I am the living water, and I am the life of a soul.
15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
15a And that’s what we call him today. The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Just as he stated.
16 Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:
16a Why did he say go to the old people? Because they knew the teaching of coming out of captivity. Just like we know the teaching of the coming of the Lord. It’s going to happen. He will return.
17 And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.
17a Tell them that I said all this and tell them about the land of the foreigners.
18 And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.
18a Once you tell the older people what I have said, they know your shepherd’s voice and will follow you.
19 And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.
19a I know for sure that the pharaoh won’t allow their release. Not at all.
20 And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.
20a I will bring so much heartache and destruction on Egypt, and he will let you go.
21 And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty:
21a Because of all the troubles and hurt the Hebrews have been through. I will bless them with riches.
22 But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.
22a Now the Hebrew women shall be blessed with all the female Egyptian’s silver & gold Jewelry. Also, their fine linen. Why? For the many years of hard labor, they’ve earned it. And who did he say to place it on? The children because they were the ones who were suffering.

Chapter 4
1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.
1a Moses was searching for any excuse not to step back into Egypt. He replied: What if they don’t believe me or say I’m not telling the truth?
2 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
2a He was holding a shepherd’s staff. Which is a rod with a hook on the end of it, a hook was used to guide the sheep.
3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.
3a When he placed it on the ground, it became a snake, and Moses ran.
4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:
4a The Lord told Moses to grab the snake by the tail. Then it changed back into a rod once more.
5 That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.
5a God was showing Moses just how powerful he is. Also, he would have nothing to worry about.
6 And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.
6a The Lord turned Moses’ hand leprous in the blink of an eye. This same blink when we return… into our spiritual bodies.
7 And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.
7a Moses obeyed Father God’s command, and his hand was returned to flesh.
8 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.
8a If they don’t believe after you tell them I AM sent you. Then, I will show them signs of my greatness.
9 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.
9a After all of this, and they still won’t believe. Take water from the river, and I will cry out to them as my blood from the ground. This same sign as in the beginning when Abel’s blood cried out from the ground to Father God.
10 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
10a Even with all your mighty wonders, Father God. I can barely talk. I have a speech impairment.
11 And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?
11a Do you think that’s news to me? I make every man as I see fit. I made you.
12 Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
12a You just go there. I will speak for you. Again, this is another sign as Father God taught us from Mark 13:11 … don’t even premeditate what we’ll say as were delivered up in these end times. He will speak for us.
13 And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.
13a Father God, please choose another leader and let me go for support.
14 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
14a Father God became frustrated with Moses. He allowed his brother Aaron to travel and speak for him. Father explained that Aaron had missed him and would perform this task from his heart.
15 And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.
15a Father explained that he would teach Moses what to say and that he would teach Aaron.
16 And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.
16a Aaron will speak to the people for you as your narrator only, not his God.
17 And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.
17a Keep that rod I shaped into a snake, for you shall use it to perform signs from me, for my people.
18 And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.
18a Moses went to Jethro and explained his mission for the Lord. How would he have to travel back to Egypt? Check on his people and make sure they were all still alive. Jethro gave him his blessings.
19 And the LORD said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.
19a The Lord assured Moses that his life would not be taken by the men who searched for him. They were now deceased.
20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.
20a Moses gathered his family, packed them up, got the rod, and headed for Egypt.
21 And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.
21a The Lord told Moses when in Egypt, to make sure Pharaoh is present for all the miracles he shall perform. Yet, his heart shall be harden and he will ignore your request to release my people.
22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:
22a Explain to Pharaoh, these are my sons, my first worshipers from long ago.
23 And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.
23a Then say unto Pharaoh, If he refuses to release my first followers, I will take his firstborn son.
24 And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.
24a As you see, the Lord had Moses all picked out to go and deliver his message. Then, stops him in his tracks and threatens to kill him. Why? Because circumcision was the only law in that day & Moses or his sons weren’t circumcised.
25 Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.
25a Zipporah, Moses wife; sharpen a stone & circumcised their son & Moses. Father God blesses all husbands with a good helpmate, and Zipporah was just that.
26 So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.
26a Circumcision is painful & bleed a lot. Now it’s by choice. This law was replaced with the 10 commandments.
27 And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.
27a Father God spoke with Aaron in his Spirit & directed him where to find Moses. Remember, Aaron, like Moses, is a Levi Priest. And all sheep should know their shepherd’s voice.
28 And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.
28a Moses explained their mission to Aaron & showed him the signs as God had taught him.
29 And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:
29a They then assembled a meeting with all the older followers of Israel.
30 And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.
30a Aaron spoke everything which Moses told him that the LORD said & demonstrated all the miracles.
31 And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped
31a When the children of God witnessed all the signs of Father God. They believed and praised him.

Chapter 5
1 And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.
1a Moses and Aaron asked Pharaoh to release God’s people. Explaining that he wanted them to celebrate him in the wilderness.
2 And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.
2a Pharaoh wanted to know who the Lord was and why he should let them go. Even though he had no intentions of releasing them.
3 And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days’ journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword.
3a They explained how Father God sent them to rescue his people. How he wanted them to travel into the desert to sacrifice and praise him. Yet, there would be a curse on them if this were not done.
4 And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens.
4a However, Pharaoh was not impressed with stopping the Hebrews from working. Saying, this would bring much suffering to Egypt.
5 And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and ye make them rest from their burdens.
5a Pharaoh saw how the Hebrews had grown in numbers. He was in no way about to let them leave their duties.
6 And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying,
6a Instead, this caused Pharaoh to gather up all the overseers and chiefs over the people, saying,
7 Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves.
7a Make it extra hard on the Hebrews. From now on, don’t supply them with straw to make the mortar. From now on, let them collect it for themselves.
8 And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.
8a When the bricks have hardened & are many, don’t bust them up for the Hebrews anymore. Let them do it themselves. Since they have so much time to worship their God.
9 Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labour therein; and let them not regard vain words.
9a Work them twice as hard. Don’t give them any time to think about what they’re asking. Yet, he makes a big mistake by referring to his father’s words as vain.
10 And the taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spake to the people, saying, Thus saith Pharaoh, I will not give you straw.
10a All the taskmasters and chiefs over the Hebrews explained … Pharaoh refuses to supply straw for your duties anymore.
11 Go ye, get you straw where ye can find it: yet not ought of your work shall be diminished.
11a Go get straw wherever you can find it. However, do not lack in your production.
12 So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble instead of straw.
12a All the Hebrews went searching for grass, weeds, hay, etc., all over the land. Anything to make straw from.
13 And the taskmasters hasted them, saying, Fulfil your works, your daily tasks, as when there was straw.
13a Make sure you get as many bricks made as you did when Pharaoh provided straw.
14 And the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and to day, as heretofore?
14a All the appointed Hebrew leaders, who represented each Hebrew team, were beaten, because the people couldn’t keep up with the production anymore.
15 Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore dealest thou thus with thy servants?
15a The appointed Hebrew leaders of the Hebrew teams wanted to know … Why this now, all of a sudden?
16 There is no straw given unto thy servants, and they say to us, Make brick: and, behold, thy servants are beaten; but the fault is in thine own people.
16a You take all the straw from us. You know this, and when we were short, you beat us?
17 But he said, Ye are idle, ye are idle: therefore ye say, Let us go and do sacrifice to the LORD.
17a You got all this time on your hands. Talking of going to serve your Lord. I just gave you something extra to do.
18 Go therefore now, and work; for there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the tale of bricks.
18a Now, go back to work and find straw. That way, you can try to meet production.
19 And the officers of the children of Israel did see that they were in evil case, after it was said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your daily task.
19a All the Hebrews knew that something bad was happening. Pharaoh knew they could not keep up production.
20 And they met Moses and Aaron, who stood in the way, as they came forth from Pharaoh:
20a When they left Pharaoh, they met Moses & Aaron coming in.
21 And they said unto them, The LORD look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.
21a They explained, You two have made Pharaoh hate our Lord. Now he’s planning on taking us out, one by one.
22 And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?
22a Moses told God what the people had said. How the Hebrews were now being treated.
23 For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.
23a He explained that he felt he had made it worse for the Hebrew children. Yet, he still has not let them go.

Chapter 6
Father God will use (I) in the first 8 verses of Chapters 6 approximately 18 times. Eighteen means bondage or slavery in biblical numerology. The third chapter of Isiah explains how our leaders would act like children.
1 Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.
1a God Almighty explained to Moses that he would get his children released from Pharaoh. Assuring him that Pharaoh would eventually be more than happy to let his people go.
2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD:
2a Father God declared unto Moses that he is the (I Am) Lord.
3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.
4a Yet, he explained how he had promised them the land of Canaan, which was an area that they knew nothing about.
5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.
5a The Hebrew children were crying out to Father God. Begging their release from Egyptian slavery. Now, God was about to fulfill his promise of the land flowing with milk and honey.
6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:
6a Father God explained to Moses to inform the children that he had heard their prayers and would stop their suffering. How he would bring them from under the pain, and punish all who had victimized them.
7 And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
7a You will serve as my children, and I as your Father. Then you will know that I AM the only God who brought you from under the Egyptians’ pain.
8 And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the LORD.
8a He explained that we would live in the land which he promised to our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
9 And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.
9a When Moses spoke these words of Father God to the Hebrews, they didn’t want to hear him. They felt he had gotten them more work put upon them already.
10 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
10a Father God spoke again to Moses, advising,
11 Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

26 These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom the LORD said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.
26a These are the descendants of Aaron and Moses, and these are the children of Israel that Father God would bring out of Egypt.
27 These are they which spake to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron.
27a Moses and Aaron are the leaders who were assigned to bring these children from Egypt.
28 And it came to pass on the day when the LORD spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt,
28a Now on the day the Lord spoke to Moses in Egypt.
29 That the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, I am the LORD: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say unto thee.
29a The Lord instructed Moses to speak to Pharaoh and explain this
30 And Moses said before the LORD, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?
30a Moses replied … What will make him listen to me? I have no power over him.

Chapter 7
1 And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.
1a Father God made Moses a head over Pharaoh & Aaron would be his prophet.
2 Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land.
2a You will explain to Aaron, your brother, my commands & he shall speak for you what I require.
3 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.
3a Pharaoh’s heart shall be hardened by me, and I will then show many signs and wonders in the land of Egypt.
4 But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies, and my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.
4a Pharaoh will not listen to you. I will show great wonders in the land. Then I will guide you and my people out of Egypt.
5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.
5a Then all Egyptians will know that I AM the Lord their God who removed my children from the land of Egypt.
6 And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.
6a Moses and Aaron left for Egypt to do as God asked.
7 And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh.
7a Moses was 80 years of age, and Aaron was 83 when they went to Pharaoh.
8 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
8a Father God then spoke to Moses and Aaron, explaining
9 When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.
9a When you are asked by Pharaoh to prove what you say. Take the rod from Aaron and lay it in front of him on the floor, and I will turn it into a snake.
10 And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.
10a They did as God had said, and the rod did turn into a snake.
11 Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.
11a Pharaoh called his magicians & they did similar imaginary tricks with sticks.
12 For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.
12a When they cast their fake rods to the floor as snakes. Aaron’s rod ate their sticks.
13 And he hardened Pharaoh’s heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
13a Pharaoh became very angry and refused to obey father Gods command.
14 And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh’s heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go.
14a God allowed Pharaoh’s heart to harden so he would refuse to let the Hebrew people depart from Egypt. Yet Father GOD wanted them to know. He is GOD.
15 Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river’s brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.
15a In the morning, when Pharaoh comes to the river. Take the rod that was turned into a snake in your hand.
16 And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.
16a Explain to Pharaoh that the LORD of the Hebrews demanded that the children be released. Tell him that they need to go into the wilderness to serve God. Yet, he is not listening.
17 Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.
17a When he refuses to allow the children to leave, then stick the rod into the river, and it shall be turned into blood. Please don’t read over this. Father God will use this same example in Revelation 11/6 when he delivers the 2 witnesses described as olive trees to lead his children from the Anti-Christ. As they turn the waters into blood.
18 And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river.
18a After which all the fish will die and pollute the river, and all the Egyptians will not be able to consume any water.
19 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.
19a Father God told Moses to say to Aaron, Stretch out your hand with the rod over the river. Anything coming from that river, such as ponds, streams, and all waters in Egypt, shall be turned into blood. all their water tanks, wooden and tin, shall be turned into blood
20 And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.
20a Moses and Aaron did as they were told. The rod turned all the waters in Egypt into blood.
21 And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.
21a All the fish died and stunk the river. No Egyptian could drink of the water, and all the waters were turned into blood.
22 And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said.
22a The magicians of Egypt did their tricks of turning water into blood, and Pharaoh still did not let the people go.
23 And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also.
23a Pharaoh did not find pleasure in God’s miracles and did not care to heed Father God’s warnings.
24 And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.
24a All the Egyptians dug and dug, yet they could not find clean water.
25 And seven days were fulfilled, after that the LORD had smitten the river.
25a After a week, God cleaned the river.

Chapter 8
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
1a Father God spoke to Moses and sent word to Pharaoh to free his people so that they may worship him.
2 And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs:
2a Let him know that if he refuses, I will cover all his exits with frogs.
3 And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs:
3a Not only will they cover the exits. Frogs would also cover their homes inside and out. Also, all of their cooking elements and food. Not only his home, but all his servants’ homes.
4 And the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon thy people, and upon all thy servants.
4a The frogs will attack him, his people, and all of his servants.
5 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.
5a Father God commanded Moses to tell Aaron to wave the Rod over the streams, rivers, and ponds. Where he waves, Father God will cause frogs to come up by the dozens to the land.
6 And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.
6a Aaron did as his father God commanded, and the frogs covered Egypt.
7 And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt.
7a The magicians did similar tricks with trickery and imitated the frogs to the land.
8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD.
8a Pharaoh sent word to Moses and Aaron that if God removed the frogs. That he would allow his people to go make sacrifices to him.
9 And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Glory over me: when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only?
9a Moses said to Pharaoh, Thank God for your wisdom. What day do you plan to let the people go? Until a clear date is set, the frogs will be removed from all over Egypt except the rivers.
10 And he said, Tomorrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God.
10a Pharaoh said they can go tomorrow. Also, I will let it be known that God is Lord over all mankind.
11 And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thy people; they shall remain in the river only.
11a The frogs will leave the land and return to the river.
12 And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh: and Moses cried unto the LORD because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh.
12a Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh, and Moses pleaded with the LORD to remove the frogs from Pharaoh’s land.
13 And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the villages, and out of the fields.
13a God withdrew all the frogs from the houses, villages, and fields.
14 And they gathered them together upon heaps: and the land stank.
14a The people cleaned up all the dead frogs, and the land smelled.
15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
15a When Pharaoh saw that all the frogs had left. He changed his mind just as Father God said he would.
16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
16a Father God spoke to Moses, instructing Aaron to wave the Rod over the dirt and curse the land with lice.
17 And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
17a Aaron did as he was asked to do by Father God. And all the land had lice all over.
18 And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast.
18a The magicians could not perform tricks of lice, and lice covered the animals and all men.
19 Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
19a The magicians explained to Pharaoh that God was doing this. Yet, Pharaoh refused to give in.
20 And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
20a Father God told Moses to get up early. There, he will find Pharaoh, tell him once again that I said Let my People Go.
21 Else, if thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.
21a Tell him that if he does not free my people, they will be consumed with flies all over the land. And in their houses.
22 And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.
22a Flies will swarm all over the land except where my people live in Goshen.
23 And I will put a division between my people and thy people: to morrow shall this sign be.
23a I will prevent your people from entering into the land of my people. This will happen tomorrow.
24 And the LORD did so; and there came a grievous swarm of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants’ houses, and into all the land of Egypt: the land was corrupted by reason of the swarm of flies.
24a Father God did as he said by spreading the flies all over Pharaoh’s house and his servants’ houses. And all the land was swarmed with flies.
25 And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land.
25a Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron, telling them to go and reason with God to allow his people to sacrifice in the land of Egypt.
26 And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the LORD our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us?
26a Moses explained to Pharaoh that they could not put a sacrifice for the Egyptians before the Lord. Just going into their surroundings to do a sacrifice, they would kill them.
27 We will go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as he shall command us.
27a Moses explained that they would walk three days into the wilderness. Then they will sacrifice to God and do what he says.
28 And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me.
28a Pharaoh answered, ” You may go into the wilderness, but not a 3-day travel. That way, you will return to me with his wishes right away.
29 And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will intreat the LORD that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, to morrow: but let not Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the LORD.
29a Moses told Pharaoh that he would ask God to free his land of flies. Yet, God will know if Pharaoh plans not to allow his people to leave Egypt.
30 And Moses went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD.
30a Moses left Pharaoh to seek God.
31 And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people; there remained not one.
31a The Lord did remove the swarms of flies from Pharaoh and all his people’s houses.
32 And Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also, neither would he let the people go.
32a Again, Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not let God’s people go.

Chapter 9
1 Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
1a Father God told Moses to go again to Pharaoh and tell him that God said let the Hebrews go to worship him.
2 For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still,
2a Let him know if he continues to hold them and not let them go,
3 Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain.
3a The Lord will cause an infectious disease, affecting all his cattle, which will be severe.
4 And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children’s of Israel.
4a The LORD shall bring this only on Pharaoh’s cattle and his house, not the children of Israel.
5 And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.
5a Let him know the LORD shall bring this to pass the next day after he is warned.
6 And the LORD did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.
6a The LORD did as he said, and all the cattle in Egypt died, yet none of the children of Israel lost any cattle.
7 And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.
7a Pharaoh was told that none of the Israelites’ cattle had died. However, Pharaoh continued to refuse to let the Hebrews go.
8 And the LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.
8a The LORD told Moses and Aaron to take handfuls of ashes from the furnace. Moses will sprinkle them in the air towards Heaven. Make sure Pharaoh sees this.
9 And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.
9a The Lord commanded Moses to sprinkle the ashes in the air and let them blow loose upon all the land in Egypt. This will cause an outbreak, which will cause boils with blisters to break out on all the men and beasts throughout the land.
10 And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast.
10a Moses did as the Lord requested of him, and boils with blisters did come upon all the men and beasts of Egypt.
11 And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.
11a The magicians were full of boils and blisters and could not tolerate the pain to challenge the Lord’s curse.
12 And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken unto Moses.
12a Father God continued to harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not contend with Moses command from the Lord.
13 And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
13a The LORD told Moses to go in the early morning and tell Pharaoh to let his people leave Egypt so they can serve him.
14 For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.
14a Warn Pharaoh that God will send all his plagues on his servants, and his people. Because he is the only God of man. There is no other like him.
15 For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.
15a Father God warned that he would send an epidemic on Pharaoh and his people, and they would get no help from anywhere on earth.
16 And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.
16a Explain to Pharaoh that he was born to be an example. For all to know after this, my power and who I am in all the world.
17 As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?
17a Since he refuses to allow my people to leave.
18 Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now.
18a Tomorrow I will cause a hail storm, one that has never been seen in Egypt before.
19 Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.
19a Father GOD showed compassion. He warned Pharaoh to gather all the cattle from the field and warn the men that this curse was about to take place. Every man and piece of cattle in the elements will die who the hail falls upon.
20 He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:
20a All of the Egyptians who believed in God took their cattle out of the field and sheltered themselves from the rain.
21 And he that regarded not the word of the LORD left his servants and his cattle in the field.
21a Those Egyptians who did not believe left their cattle in the field for death.
22 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.
22a GOD commanded Moses to point to the heavens and declare the hail to fall upon the beasts, men, and all the herbs in the field.
23 And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt.
23a Moses did as his father, God, commanded him, and the LORD sent a loud thunder and hail mixed with fire and rained it upon Egypt.
24 So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
24a Hail and fire came down from the heavens with powerful force and went all over the land of Egypt. Nothing they had ever experienced.
25 And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.
25a The hail killed every beast, man, and all herbs of the field, and even the trees of the land. Only the people who did not believe the Word of GOD.
26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.
26a Hail was all over except in the land where the children of Israel lived. Just like back then, GOD will take care of his own. Believe and listen to your father. He has told us all things.
27 And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
27a Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, confessing that he & his people did sin against the LORD. And they all had been acting evil.
28 Intreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.
28a Pharaoh explained that he believed that if GOD would stop the hail, he would let the people go.
29 And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is the LORD’S.
29a Moses promised Pharaoh that after he left. He would pray to GOD and explain that Pharaoh believed and to please stop the hailstorms. For now, he knows that the world belongs to God.
30 But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the LORD God.
30a I know it’s not going to make any difference to him
31 And the flax and the barley was smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled.
31a The flax and barley were in bloom and not hurt. Father God has compassion, and he left them food to grow.
32 But the wheat and the rie were not smitten: for they were not grown up.
32a The wheat and rye had not yet rooted from the ground
33 And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the LORD: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.
33a Moses prayed to God, and all the elements stopped.
34 And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.
34a Pharaoh tried again to con GOD and kept not his promise.
35 And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the LORD had spoken by Moses.
35a Pharaoh again challenged GOD, and did not let his people go.

Chapter 10
1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:
1a God told Moses to go and tell Pharaoh that he would show him just what he would do. Yet, Pharaoh and his servants would not listen because God had put it on their hearts not to.
2 And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.
2a God told Moses to preach to the sons and the sons of the sons what he had done in the past against Egypt because of his anger, so they could know the power of God.
3 And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.
3a Moses and Aaron went unto Pharaoh and explained that the Lord instructed him to humble himself and let his people go and serve him.
4 Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:
4a And if he refused to let the Hebrews go, he would bring locusts into their land the next day, starting from the coastline of the land.
5 And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:
5a That there would be so many locust they would cover the earth. And cover all the trees, even the trees for food that were not destroyed by the hailstorm he had sent in the past
6 And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.
6a How these locusts would fill all the houses of the Egyptians & they will be so powerful as never seen before by your fathers or forefathers. Then Moses and Aaron left the face of Pharaoh.
7 And Pharaoh’s servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?
7a Pharaoh’s servants questioned him, asking him to let the Hebrews go before God destroyed Egypt.
8 And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: but who are they that shall go?
8a Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron and asked them which Hebrews did God want him to let go?
9 And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD.
9a Moses explained that all the old & young people, sons, daughters, along with their flocks. All will go to plan a feast before the LORD.
10 And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you.
10a Pharaoh answered, ” Take your GOD with you, and you serve him. I will let the old go and keep the little ones to assure no more evil upon Egypt.
11 Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
11a Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to go and serve their LORD, but leave the others here, and they were run out of Egypt.
12 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.
12a GOD told Moses to stretch out his hand and call for the locusts to come upon the land and destroy as he promised because Pharaoh did not allow all his children, old and young, to exit.
13 And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
13a Moses did what he was told, and the locust filled the land the next day.
14 And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
14a The locusts filled the land of Egypt, and destroyed all that was green. It was something never seen before and would not ever be again.
15 For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
15a There were so many locusts that the land of Egypt became dark from their presence. They consumed all the greenery in the fields and fruit trees that were left from the hailstorm. There was no greenery anywhere in the land.
16 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.
16a Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron immediately and proclaimed what he had done against GOD.
17 Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.
17a Pharaoh asked Moses to ask GOD to forgive him for what he had done. And to take the locust away before his kingdom was destroyed by death.
18 And he went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD.
18a Moses went to GOD and offered him Pharaoh’s plea.
19 And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.
19a GOD caused a great wind to blow over the locust, and they were blown into the Red Sea.
20 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.
20a GOD put malice into Pharaoh’s heart, and he continued to try to con GOD by not allowing the children of Israel to go worship the LORD.
21 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.
21a Father GOD told Moses to point his hand to the heavens and declare darkness all over the land where no man could see anything.
22 And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
22a Moses did what the LORD had commanded him, and darkness was upon the land of Egypt for three days.
23 They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
23a None of the Egyptians could leave their homes because they could not see anything. Yet the children of GOD had light.
24 And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
24a Pharaoh sent for Moses and told him that the old and young may go and serve his LORD, but they would have to leave the animals behind.
25 And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.
25a Moses insisted that they would need the animals for worshiping the LORD with gifts of sacrifices and burnt offerings.
26 Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.
26a Moses explained to Pharaoh that the children of Israel would have to take all the animals because they would not know what offerings or sacrifices would be asked by GOD.
27 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go.
27a Again, Pharaoh’s heart was hardened by God, and he refused to let the LORD’s people take their cattle.
28 And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.
28a Pharaoh told Moses to leave and not return. If he is seen there again, he would kill him.
29 And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.
29a Moses agreed to leave and not return.
